The story behind the name
Our name embodies our mission: to set a new precedent for excellence, integrity, and innovation in our industry, and to help our clients establish the strong foundations that define their future success.
It is a nod to Prof. John Burland’s seminal Nash lecture in 1987* (updated in 2006**) in which he defined what is now known as the ‘Geotechnical triangle’ with the ‘Precedent’ placed at its heart.
This experience adopts only those practices that have proven to be successful and reliable. These are retained and carefully adopted in solving the next engineering problem.
